Blurb from the author: I am aware that all good deeds you do (even if it is something for you, such as practicing your Quran recital) have tremendously increased your rewards for life after death in Ramadhan to have. This makes Ramadhan one of the best times to hone your skills and learn new ones that can then be used to teach others.
Whether you are one
There are times when Muslims practice for a long time or are completely new to the faith
when we all need guidance on practices and more. You can find apps here
and platforms are convenient because they are usually accessible and affordable.
With that in mind, there are 9 online platforms here that can be used for free (though some require in-app purchases to unlock more features) so that you can expand your knowledge and practices in the month of Ramadhan.

2nd Panduan Solat Sunat Tarawih
During the holy month
from Ramadhan is an additional nightly prayer called Tarawih (or Terawih)
performed by Muslims.
It is usually done in
Mosques, but now that the MCO is in place, many do it alone or with the family
in their own homes.
Panduan Solat Sunat Tarawih is a lead app designed to help familiarize all Muslims with Tarawih, starting with what the prayer is made of.

The third pillar of Islam, Zakat, refers to a certain percentage of the compulsory wealth donation to the needy, which can take various forms, be it money, gold, rice, and more. It is usually settled during Ramadhan before the Eid prayers begin.
PPZ-MAIWP acts as a portal where you can get various information on how to perform Zakat by calculating how much you have to pay depending on what Zakat you want to give, where you can pay and reviewing your previous Zakat statements .

For those of us who are still reading the Quran, Recite is an app developed by Recite Lab Sdn Bhd to help you improve your reading through verbal feedback from others.
Fairiz, its founder,
Vulcan Post said the app is intended for those who are too embarrassed to have it face to face
Sessions, do not have time for long learning sessions or cannot afford
among other reasons.
He wanted to solve everything
that with reciting. Record a 5-minute audio recording of yourself and recite
Submit it and get constructive feedback within 3 hours on average
from a pool of qualified reviewers to help you improve your pronunciation and
Only the first 5
The minutes of the recording are free, so you have to buy additional time in the app: 1.99 RM
(3 minutes), RM5.99 (15 minutes) and RM20.99 (60 minutes).
The app is available on both Google Play and the Apple App Store.
5. Semak Hadis
Hadith (also written
as Hadis) refer to the teachings and words of the Prophet Muhammad and are often so
referred to as the source of religious law and moral leadership, only second only
that of the Koran.
There are fictional hadiths in the world, and that's something that many Muslims do
Semak Hadis wants to remove all of this caution and concern by checking hadith for facts, telling you which ones have been made, and providing a comprehensive list of the real ones.
Instead of falling victim to false knowledge or spreading it during this Ramadhan, this free app on Google Play helps improve the record.
6. Clever hadith
Smart Hadith is another app that should guide you to the right hadith. It was developed by both Suruhanjaya Multimedia Malaysia (MCMC) and Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (JAKIM).
That could be
Soothing for some, since the information in the app is authoritative
Numbers. It also shows you popular hadiths and presents keywords for you
Choose as a starting point (instead of coming up with a hadith theme
to find out if you are new to it).
The app is available free of charge on Google Play and the Apple App Store. Personally, I would say that I would prefer Semak Hadis to this because I like to know which are actually false and which are true.
7. Wise Quran
Smart Quran is another app developed in collaboration with MCMC and JAKIM, this time also with the Ministry of Interior of Malaysia (MOHA). It has been approved by the Al-Quran Printing Control and Licensing Board (MOHA).
It's free for everyone on the Google Play and Apple App Store, and contains both Malay and English translations of verse. It also offers audio from multiple reciters that can be downloaded page by page.
The app itself I would say is easy to use (and it comes in dark mode!)
and will be useful for those who don't just want to learn the verses and their verses
Meanings, but also introductions to each of the suras (chapters).
8th. Tilawah Malaysia
While personalized feedback like what Recite offers can be beneficial, some people would rather learn how to record audio and take notes in the app. Then Tilawah Malaysia is just the thing for you.
To make learning easier, the Tajweed
(Pronunciations) are color coded and the audio recordings can be played back
after an entire sentence or just a single word.
The app also automatically registers where
You have stopped so that you can open the app again until your last session
Tilawah Malaysia can be downloaded and used for free (but also offers in-app purchases) on Google Play and the Apple App Store.
9. Waktu Solat Malaysia
Some of us are lucky enough to live near a mosque so that we can hear the adhan (call to prayer), but for those of us who don't, Waktu Solat Malaysia can help you.
This app, developed by Media Prima Digital, enables you to activate notifications for prayer times so that you will be notified accordingly. This is helpful if you are not always on the phone due to work or other personal tasks.
However, don't be fooled by the name of the app.
It offers so much more than prayer times; it has ramadhan recipes,
Activities, prayer steps, recitals and more.
It is available for free on both Google Play and the Apple App Store. However, be aware that occasionally some annoying ads appear.
Bottom line: The best thing about the educational apps mentioned is that you can use them at your own time so you can learn at a pace that suits you. You personalize your own experiences and that is the most helpful for me.
