The latest addition to Apple's mobile game subscription service, Apple Arcade, is Crossy Road Castle, a brand new endless runner-style game by developer Hipster Whale.
The studio made a name for itself in 2014 and created the Frogger-inspired endless runner Crossy Road, which had a lot of success as both a mobile game and a smart TV game available on Apple's tvOS platform. Now Hipster Whale is back with not quite a sequel, but rather a spin-off that uses the same art style and cast of characters.
Crossy Road Castle is still an endless runner, but instead of crossing a busy street full of cars, you're crossing an endlessly tall castle tower full of obstacles and enemies. The levels are procedurally generated, says Hipster Whale, and there are still a lot of collectibles to unlock, as was the case with the colorful cast of polygonal animal avatars in the original game.
Crossy Road Castle also supports co-op games for up to four players. The game can also be played with touch controls or a controller.
