Australian Home Secretary Peter Dutton said he tested positive for the new corona virus and entered the hospital's quarantine on Friday.
"I woke up with a fever and sore throat this morning," said the minister, who is an influential member of the government and a key architect of the controversial Australian immigration laws.
"It is Queensland Health's policy that anyone who tests positive will be hospitalized and I have followed their advice."
