A new Valentine's Day work by British street artist Banksy, showing a young girl firing a slingshot of flowers, was blurred after it appeared in a building in the west of England.
A photo posted on social media showed abusive graffiti that was probably directed against local authorities in the city of Britol and scribbled over the artwork in the city in south-west England.
Banksy confirmed that he was the artist by posting two pictures of it on his Instagram account in the early hours of Valentine's Day.
"It's a real shame, but unfortunately it would always happen," a local resident told the domestic Press Association news agency.
