Transportation company ComfortDelGro announced today (June 7th) that it will bring its taxi, private bus, car rental and leasing and lifestyle businesses together under a new division called the Private Mobility Group.
According to the company, the move should bundle and use the core competencies in land transport solutions and make it easier for customers to access the various services of the group.
As part of this plan, ComfortDelGro will be introducing a “mega-app” by the beginning of next year, with which customers can choose from a large number of service offers on a single platform.
At its core, customers can use the app to book taxi, private bus, car rental and leasing services.
Taxi drivers can rent a car for the weekend, for example, by simply clicking on the “One CDG” option in the app. The new PMG will have a combined fleet size of over 12,000 vehicles.

The app will also include lifestyle options such as restaurant bookings, which are currently available in the Zig app.
Jackson Chia, head of the Private Mobility Group, said the company plans to add other services such as learner drivers and ambulance services to the group in the future.
“The intent is to bring CDG's extensive range of transportation solutions across markets to provide convenience to the different communities we serve,” he said.
“The ComfortDelGro Group has a wide range of mobility solutions in Singapore. By pooling resources in the PMG, we can develop intelligent and green intermodal mobility solutions for our customers. With our size and diverse portfolio of assets, we will be better positioned to forge partnerships, experiment, and offer innovative products and services. "
