Cardi B is the last to laugh after her Grammys appearance on March 14th. Just over a week after the rapper rolled around on a giant mattress with Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi's latest track "Up" shot to the top of the Billboard Hot 100. This marks Cardi's second single at # 1 – the first being "Bodak Yellow." "- and makes her the first rapper to perform like this.
Cardi, who already had four titles in first place before "Up", is success in first place. This particular achievement, however, comes at a time when the musician is exposed to seemingly relentless criticism, especially from conservative media personalities. Your provocative Grammys performance clearly upset some people, but you can't deny the bottom line: record sales.
Cardi celebrated the Billboard win on March 22nd through a series of Instagram posts, including a video reminding viewers that she doesn't have to prove herself to anyone. "You know, if a B * Tch wins, people have to find something," she said. "The more hate you think, the harder I get. The more shit I have to talk about for my album. Stop hating."
