China reported 27 new corona virus deaths on Sunday, bringing the total to 3,097.
According to the National Health Commission, there were 44 new cases of infection, most of them in Wuhan's virus epicenter, which were also responsible for all deaths.
Outside of Hubei Province, whose capital is Wuhan, in Beijing and northwestern Gansu Province, only three cases were reported, all of which were imported from abroad.
New infections reported by Hubei have been declining for several weeks, and at 41, the number of new cases is the lowest since quarantine measures were introduced against the province in late January.
Nationwide new infections are also declining, but confirmed imported cases have raised concerns over the past few days that infections may swell if people are infected overseas.
The number of coronavirus cases worldwide has risen to over 100,000, with 3,500 people killed in 95 countries and territories.
