US President Donald Trump continued his attacks on the media and said on Sunday that people called him the "hardest working President". He claimed that during his first term in office he might have done more work than any other president in the country's history.
"The people who know me and know the history of our country say that I am the hardest working president in history. I don't know anything about it, but I'm a hard worker and probably did in the first 3 1 / more 2 years as every president in history. The wrong news hates it! "Trump wrote on Twitter.
"I work from early morning until late at night, have not left the White House for many months (other than to start the comfort of hospital ships) to deal with trade agreements, military reconstruction, etc., and then I read a fake Story in the failed NYTimes about my work, "he said in another tweet.
The US president continued to criticize the media, saying that "lawsuits should be brought against everyone, including fake news organizations, to correct this terrible injustice."
"Do we have any buyers for all the big lawyers out there? When will the noble committee act? Better be quick!" he said.
Amid Trump's attacks on American media, the number of coronavirus cases in the U.S. has increased with more than 957,016 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and over 54,435 deaths.
Trump had said on Saturday earlier that he saw no sense in press conferences, as he was mostly asked "hostile questions" by some American media, which he claimed to get record ratings by reporting "bogus news".
This is against the backdrop of Trump's remarks at a Thursday's COVID-19 briefing, in which he suggested that medical experts could explore ways to use disinfectants or ultraviolet light to treat coronavirus patients by injection or cleaning.
The US President later clarified that his comments after the turmoil over his comments were "sarcastic" in nature.
