Early on Saturday afternoon (April 3), DMX attorney Murray Richman confirmed to PIX11 News that his client "has been taken off the life support system and is breathing on its own." Just before 8pm on Saturday, Rolling Stone reported that Richman "received false information" and that the legendary rapper is still life sustaining and in critical condition.

Richman spoke to PIX11 News about the rapper's condition but says he is still concerned about his client's health. "I would be insincere to say that I am not a concerned man at this point," he said.
The DMX family had previously confirmed to ABC through Richman that the rapper is in grave condition and is life sustaining.
"I got a call this morning that Earl Simmons was at White Plains Hospital and had a heart attack. I'm not sure how it was triggered and that it is life sustaining," said Richman, adding that X " surrounded by family ".
Richman says he did legal work for DMX for over 20 years and stayed in touch with his family. "I've talked to family and family and I'm pretty close together. I am concerned about his well-being and I understand its importance," he said. "I've known Earl for over 25 years and I believe his music is pretty poignant and very important. He really is a poet of our time. "
DMX reportedly suffered an alleged drug overdose on Friday evening (April 2nd) and is reportedly in severe condition in a hospital in White Plains, New York.
According to TMZ, the incident occurred around 11 p.m. at his home. and triggered a heart attack. The rapper is currently in intensive care and sources close to him told the celebrity news agency that X has “some brain activity” and is in a “vegetative state”. Doctors warn, according to TMZ, that "he may not make it".
DMX, whose maiden name is Earl Simmons, has been fighting substance abuse for years and has been in rehab several times. His last stay was in 2019.

This year, Simmons checked into rehab for fear of relapse again, but efforts have reportedly failed, reports said.
