If you haven't fallen in love with Netflix's latest reality dating show yet, Love is blindThen it's time for you to catch up. The series, moderated by Nick and Vanessa Lachey, follows 30 participants who get to know each other while spending 10 days in their own "pods" – without ever meeting in person until they are ready to make suggestions. It's as bizarre and addictive as it sounds, and we won't know which ones (if any) until the final on February 27th Love is blind Couples stayed together after filming. For those of you wondering how to get yourself on the show, we have some bad news: the audition is pretty secret.
During an interview with Weekly entertainmentChris Coelen, the show's creator, explained that the casting department chose participants based on who was really looking for a long-term relationship. "We have a great casting department and they turned to people who they thought were really interested in this kind of engagement," he said. "I think that's really important. We want people who don't just do it for attention." He added that sincere interest is all they are looking for potential performers, as well as people who fall into a certain age group. And unlike shows like The bachelor and The BacheloretteParticipants don't have to worry about falling in love with someone who lives hundreds of miles away as the entire cast is selected from the same city.
Although never explicitly stated, the bespoke facility shown in the show is located in Atlanta, as are the performers (which you probably found out if you followed the cast on social media). Coelen told E! news that the decision to play the first season in Atlanta was based on the city's production support system. "Atlanta has one of the largest stages in the United States," he said. "… it's one of the most massive sets I've ever seen. We needed this kind of space to be honest, (and) there are very few places to go. There were practical considerations as well like creative considerations. "
However, this does not mean that future occupations will all consist of Atlanta residents. Upon request from diversity Which cities he's considering for season two of the show (if a season two happens, that is), Coelen said that he had a couple of different cities in mind. "Look, the idea is that we will eventually do it in other countries – it's very global," he said. "There are many places we could go. Chicago is a great place to see, as are New York, Boston, Houston. There are so many different places we could go. And as I said, outside of the country as Good." For him, the top priority is to have candidates who all live in the same place, "to give them a real attempt to make their love and marriage work". So if you want to apply for season two, you probably have to live in the city that will be selected next. In addition, the casting process is a mystery.
