Elon Musk said late Monday that he was assisting Jack Dorsey to remain chief executive officer of Twitter Inc. two days after reports that activist investor Elliott Management Corp had pushed for his removal from the role.
"I just want to say that I support Jack as Twitter CEO," tweeted the billionaire CEO of Tesla Inc, using the heart emoji to say that Dorsey has a good heart.
Jack Dorsey, 43, is one of the best known entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley and also runs Square Inc, a co-founded company for mobile payments.
Jack Dorsey and Elon Musk used to praise on social media. At an event earlier this year, Jack Dorsey asked Elon Musk, who has over 31 million followers on Twitter, for advice on how the platform could get better.
Hedge fund Elliott has acquired a stake in Twitter and will try to include its own candidates on the eight-member board of the social media company when three of the directors are available, Reuters reported on Friday, citing sources.
