New York:
Michelle Obama starts her new podcast and who better to be her first guest than her husband, the former US President.
She announced on Friday that Barack would star in her podcast premiere on July 29.
The Michelle Obama Podcast, which airs exclusively on Spotify, will be a series of interviews in which America's first black first lady is paired with one guest per episode.
"I can't wait to hear all of the conversations I've had for the #MichelleObamaPodcast," she tweeted.
"My mother, my friends, my colleagues and many others come along, with someone you are quite familiar with: @BarackObama is my first guest on July 29th."
Others featured in the tweet as future guests include former Obama adviser and girlfriend Valerie Jarrett and talk show host Conan O & # 39; Brien.
The podcast is produced by Higher Ground Productions, the company that was founded by the Obamas in 2018 and also has content deals with Netflix.
Issues to be discussed on the Obamas include the coronavirus crisis and the protest movement triggered by George Floyd's death in police custody, according to the Hollywood news agency Variety, who heard part of the first episode.
The former US President had previously been invited to podcasts – most recently in 2017 to "Pod Save America", which is moderated by some of his former employees and speechwriters.
His popular wife achieved a world victory in publishing with her treatise "Becoming" published in November 2018.
Since then, more than 11.5 million copies have been sold, and tens of thousands of people attended book events in the United States and abroad.
The book also spawned a documentary that was released on Netflix in May.
