On Tuesday evening (November 22nd), Gabrielle Union will host a live reading of an episode of the '90s sitcom Friends. The reading will include Uzo Aduba, Ryan Bathe, Aisha Hinds, Sterling K. Brown, Kendrick Sampson and Jeremy Pope.
The actors will re-enact the episode "The One That Nobody's Ready" from the third season of Friends. She originally played Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer.
For the reading, Aduba will play Phoebe, Bathe will play Rachel, Hinds will play Monica, Brown will play Ross, Sampson will play Joey, and Pope will be Chandler. The production team consists of Bathe, Hinds, Cynthia Erivo, Tessa Thompson, Kerry Washington, Rashida Jones, Stefanie and Quentin James, Channing Dungey, Karen Richardson, Issa Rae, Latanya Richardson and Ava DuVernay.
The event is hosted by "Zoom Where It Happens", a live table reading series. Previously, black female artists (in collaboration with Zoom) were presented, whose aim is to strengthen activation, awareness and intention for the right to vote.
"Zoom Where It Happen" started on September 8th and will continue until Election Day with a changing cast of actors. The aim is to motivate voters and intensify the fight for electoral justice and voting rights.
