The entertainment options have turned rapidly and rapidly due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Education Secretary Lawrence Wong, co-chair of the state's task force to combat Covid-19, recently announced that the government may release plans to lead Singapore through Phase 3 of reopening the economy.
While cinema capacity will increase, keeping Golden Village (GV) afloat may not be enough.
To overcome this, the cinema exhibitor announced today (October 14th) its latest step on its path to innovation: Z.E.S.T. @ Gold Class, a unique work-from-lounge concept.

If you are bored with working from home, you can now work in a cinema lounge.
According to Golden Village, Z.E.S.T stands for Zen, entertainment, space, taste and is available exclusively in the Suntec City Gold Class.
This new concept enables customers to use a cheap space to work or study without the long-term commitment that traditional co-working spaces require or the time constraints that often apply in local cafes.
Z.E.S.T customers not only have a cheap workplace, but can also recharge with the Golden Village Zen Zone program.

The benefits of the program include a short nap on the Gold Class loungers between 12.00 and 1.30 p.m. or between 2.00 p.m. and 3.30 p.m.
Guests also receive free popcorn, a free cup of tea or coffee, and vouchers for film discounts.
From October 12th through October 31st, a six-hour access to Z.E.S.T costs just S $ 15 (the usual price is S $ 25).
Meanwhile, access to the shared work area and zen zone will reset visitors by S $ 20 (the usual price is S $ 35).
GV is more than a movie
Other current innovations from GV are the M Pass, an inexpensive film pass that customers can use to call up current titles.
Exclusive cloth masks are also sold to keep up with the times.
According to the GV, the theater had to think outside the box in order to continuously address customers and create new sources of income.
"As a company, we are constantly looking for new and innovative ways to stay relevant to our customers and demonstrate our ability to adapt to new realities," said Clara Cheo, CEO of Golden Village Multiplex.
"Z.E.S.T @ Gold Class is the final step in our journey as we continue to strive to bring more than one film to our customers."
