Google may finally end the internet tradition of high-traffic viewing of posts with a new search feature that reveals local TV and streaming options for NBA and MLB games when you search for terms like "how to watch the Lakers games" .
The new feature launches today in the US and can pull in your location data to find out which local channel is broadcasting the game you want to watch. In addition to the boxing results or the remaining playing time, the new TV options are also displayed in Google's existing search widgets for sports games.
Currently, the feature supports MLB and NBA games and works on a wide variety of cable and network channels. Google says it is working on supporting more leagues and more internet streaming options in the near future.
In addition to the new live sports feature, Google is expanding its personalized TV and movie recommendations published last year with new carousels of live content that is currently being broadcast on cable and radio. Instead of just getting an idea of a show or movie that you might want to see, you can now find content that is now available.
