Starting April 22, 2021, Grab will increase the platform fee for GrabFood and GrabMart to S $ 0.30 per order. It is currently S $ 0.20 per order.
Grab said the rise in fees was due to increased demand for supplies. In an email sent to customers by Grab, the hail and food delivery platform said it needed to raise platform fees to provide a "safer and more efficient platform."
"In order to continue this in the long term, we will adjust our platform fee with effect from April 22, 2021 by 10 cents to 30 cents per order. This will help to keep the current functions and develop new ones," said the company.
Invest in new and current features
Grab said the platform fees will be used for maintaining current features and developing new features. The fees are used for investments in three areas – safety and efficiency.
