Grey's Anatomy wraps up some notable cameos this season. After the shocking return of Meredith Grey's late husband Derek Shepherd in the season 17 premiere, the show teased that someone from her past will be featured in the upcoming episode, titled "You Will Never Walk Alone," which takes place on December will be broadcast. 3.
The latest episode, titled "My Happy Ending," aired November 19th, announces that Meredith has signed COVID-19. As she struggles with her symptoms, she slips in and out and visions that she is on a beach with Derek. In a preview of the upcoming episode, we see Meredith approach someone else on the beach, but we don't see his face.
Of course, fans have already started to theorize who it could be. Given that Meredith appears to have a different vision, it is likely that it is someone who is no longer alive. So far, the most popular theory is Meredith's half-sister Lexie Gray. She was first introduced in season three and appeared on the show through season eight. In the season eight finale, she and her boyfriend Mark Sloan were repeatedly injured in an aircraft accident and eventually died. Seattle Grace Mercy West was eventually renamed the Gray Sloan Memorial Hospital in her memory. Is it possible that Grey's Anatomy planning to bring Lexie and Mark back? We keep our fingers crossed!
