Joe Biden on Monday won US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi spokeswoman, who described him as the "voice of reason" that can lead America out of the coronavirus crisis.
Ms. Pelosi was the last leading democrat to officially endorse Biden's White House candidacy against Republican Donald Trump in November.
"Today I am proud to support Joe Biden as President of the United States because he will be an Extraordinary President," the House spokesman said in the recorded message.
Biden, who served as vice president under former President Barack Obama, emerged as a presumed Democratic candidate in a series of primaries after decisive primary victories before the COVID-19 pandemic brought much of the country to a standstill.
His main competitors, including Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, left the race and supported Biden as well as Obama.
In her statement, Ms. Pelosi praised the former Delaware senator as a man with "empathy, grace, and courage" and "a leader with the humility to seek science expertise and the confidence to act on it."
"Given the corona virus, Joe Biden was a voice of reason and resilience with a clear way to get us out of this crisis," she said.
