MINSK (Reuters) – At least one person was killed after being knocked over by a police truck and dozens were injured in clashes between police and protesters following the presidential election in Belarus, a representative of the Spring 96 rights group said Monday.
"There are at least 120 detainees, but these are the first data," Valentin Stefanovic told Reuters.
Thousands of people took to the streets in protest on Sunday after the strong President Alexander Lukashenko sought to win a sixth term in an election that his opponents said had been rigged in his favor.
