The IBM Cloud is currently suffering from a major failure. This means that several services hosted on the platform also fail, including Techmeme, the most popular tech news aggregator of all.
It looks like the problems started around 2:30 p.m. and spread from there. To the best of our knowledge, this is a worldwide problem that involves a network problem, but that of IBM The own status page is no longer loaded and returns an internal server error. Therefore, we do not know exactly how big the failure was or what triggered it. The IBM Cloud Twitter account has also remained silent, although we found a status page for IBM Aspera hosted on a third-party server. This seems to confirm that this is probably a worldwide network problem.
Ibm cloud, The company, which published a paper on ensuring downtime in April, also suffered a minor failure in its Dallas data center in March.
We have contacted the IBM PR team and will update this post as we receive more information.
Update # 1 (5:06 p.m. PT): We see some reports that IBM Cloud is slowly coming back online, but the company's status page now seems to be working again and still shows that the cloud outage continues for the time being.
Update No. 2 (5:25 p.m. PT): IBM continues to add additional information to its status page, although network issues appear to be at the heart of this issue.
