Geneva:
The World Health Organization said on Thursday that the United States, Brazil, and India, all of which are suffering from a rapid rise in coronavirus cases, can still manage the pandemic.
They are "powerful, capable, democratic countries that have enormous internal capacities to deal with this disease," said Dr. Mike Ryan, director of the WHO emergency program, held a briefing in Geneva.
The US coronavirus cases exceeded 4 million on Thursday, with over 2,600 new cases per hour registered according to a Reuters record. This is the highest rate in the world.
