As governments around the world weigh the pros and cons of reopening their economies before the novel corona virus has been contained or cured, individual populations are debating how safely they can leave their locks.
Data from an Ipsos survey of 14 countries show that only four countries (China, India, Italy, Russia) are in favor of economic recovery, although Covid-19 is not yet included. In only two countries (Germany, Italy) the majority are not "very nervous" to leave their homes.
Oddly enough, the majority of those who say they want their economy to get going again before the virus has been contained say they are "very nervous" when they leave the house – including 72% of Japanese and 82% of those In the. This suggests that even those economies that are considering restarting may find a lack of willing participants.
