Netflix’s newest whodunnit premiered on May 15, but we already have high hopes for season two. The aptly named White lines comes from the creative mastermind behind it La Casa de Papel (money theft), Álex Pina and the producers of The crownTherefore, it is hard to believe that the new series will not be a hit. The real question is, what would we want to see in season two?
The first season follows Zoe Walker (Laura Haddock), a young woman who leaves her husband and daughter in the UK when her brother's body is discovered two decades after his disappearance in Ibiza. She returns to the Spanish island paradise to investigate his death, but her search leads her on a decadent and dangerous path. Trapped in the world of dance clubs, lies, and cover-ups, Zoe is forced to face the dark side of herself as she tries to learn who to trust and how to survive. Since we don't want to ruin your fun too soon, we won't reveal the big twist of the season or the identity of the killer. Instead, we will only confirm that the killer is actually exposed, so the next installment no longer needs to cover that reason.
What would the second season mean? Perhaps we can venture further into Zoe's life and how she will deal with the family that left her behind. After everything she saw and went through in Ibiza, can she go back to her old life as if it never happened? And can she leave the people she came close to? And of course there is the rest of the action that doesn't end just because the murder of a man has been solved. White lines opened a world full of drugs and parties that fans will no doubt like to delve into. We have to wait and see if Netflix gives people what they want.
