Jeezy and fiancé Jeannie Mai spoke of abusive comments they'd made years ago about marrying a white man, but which had some "dark meat on the side" (referring to black men) advertising his latest album, The Recession 2 .

When performing on The Real in May 2014, he said, “I loved black people. To me, dark meat on the side, white keeps me mean and slim. That's why I married a white man. That's what I like. "
