On August 15, Lauren London honored Nipsey Hussle on his 35th birthday. The ATL The actress shared a black and white Instagram photo of the "Double Up" rapper with heartfelt message that reads:
Nice strong vessel
The spiritual giant who walked the earth.
"I miss you" will never be deep enough for the emptiness in my soul.
Still, I know you go with me – always quiet.
Forever your boogie.
Lauren's tribute came four months after praising Nipsey on the year-long anniversary of his death. "The pain is as strong today as it was a year ago," she said on Instagram. "God knows I would give anything to see you again." Nipsey was fatally shot and killed outside his The Marathon Clothing store in Los Angeles in March 2019. The couple, who have been together since 2013, have a 3-year-old son named Cross. Lauren also shares a 10-year-old son with ex-boyfriend Lil Wayne, and Nipsey had a daughter, Emani, 11, from a previous relationship.
Other stars – including Rick Ross, DJ Khaled and Swizz Beatz – also paid tribute to Nipsey. Snoop Dogg also released a new track, Nipsey Blue, which is dedicated to the late rapper. "Just the mention of your name / makes me paint my game," says Snoop in the song, which was inspired by Dorothy Moore's 1976 hit "Misty Blue". He continues, "Listen to me homie / When I think of the things we used to do / My whole world becomes Nipsey Blue."
