Google launched the Pixel 4A in August but told us that we would have to wait for the Pixel 5A and Pixel 4A 5G to appear. They are expected to arrive this fall (probably early October), but new renders that supposedly show Pixel 5 give us an idea of what to expect.
The renderings come from regular leakers @OnLeaks and the Indian tech site PriceBaba. There are no real surprises here. The pictures show a fingerprint sensor on the back. square camera array with two cameras, a flash and an unknown sensor; and a front-facing pinhole camera on the top left of the display.
It's hard to tell the authenticity of the rendering, but the sandblasted texture on the case matches the side view of the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4A 5G that Google shared earlier this year.
However, the Pixel 5's screen is already controversial. OnLeaks claims that the Pixel 5 will have a screen size between 5.7 "and 5.8", which would be the same or perhaps smaller than the 5.8 "screen on the Pixel 4A. According to Android Central, the Pixel 5 will come with a 6-inch OLED panel running at 90 Hz, which makes a little more sense. At 5.8 inches, the Pixel 5 will look a little too small compared to devices like the Samsung S20 flagship with 6.2-inch display.
A few other specs about the Pixel 5 have been rumored, but nothing in particular just yet. Android headlines suggested that the device might have a rather meager 3,080 mAh battery, while Android Central claims the rumor was "totally false" and that the battery is actually bigger than the Pixel 4.
At least the rumors seem to agree on one thing: it may be powered by a Snapdragon 765G processor that supports 5G but is a step back from the Snapdragon 855 used in the Pixel 4. We also heard 8GB of RAM a few times, according to Android Central, you now also get 128GB of storage, 15W Qi cable charging, and 5W reverse wireless charging (possibly for your bluetooth earbuds).
An official look at the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4A 5G from Google.
If you're looking for more purported renditions of the 5G, including a 360-degree video, you can head over to Pricebaba's post. Otherwise we will be looking for more leaks until October (probably).
