One of the highest
A parent's priority when it comes to their children is their safety.
It is not once so unsettling
They grew up to be young adults because they probably learned how at that age
take care of your own safety.
But children under the age of 18
can't understand how to protect yourself, or even see the importance of
to do that.
This is where TraqKid comes in to not only educate them and their parents about the safety of children, but also to provide a service with which parents can mutually track the whereabouts of their children.
4 co-founders – Simon
(CEO), June (COO), Gibson (CMO) and Kuan – all from different professionals
came together to create TraqKid from a common cause for
Malaysian children who are parents themselves.

It was official
launched in November 2017 by the then Minister for Women, Family and Society
Development, YB Dato Seri Hajah Rohani Abdul Karim.
Born out of the personal
Experience
During a family vacation in Kota Bharu when Simon was 7 years old, he almost lost his eldest brother Ivan when they were playing outside of a lively market.
Ivan had come up with one
Biking and cycling in the crowd, and Simon and his younger brother couldn't
keep up with him so they went home.
At noon they realized
that Ivan was still not home and finally told her mother what had happened.
"I can still remember
My mother's hectic look. Messy hair and tears ran down her cheeks
in the market and asked everyone if she could hold on to mine
Brother's whereabouts, ”Simon recalled.
Affected dealers left
their booths and came up to them to ask what Ivan looked like and over 50
Motorcycles began to circle the streets, shouting Ivan's name.
Fortunately, he would be led
a few hours later by an uncle on a motorcycle home.
His brother can only
missing for a few hours, but the feeling of loss Simon had felt back
Then there is a feeling that has stayed with him and has led him to start TraqKid.
More than just one
tracker
The TraqKid mission is
To solve problems with the safety of Malaysian children with missing persons
or outliers, domestic violence, cyberbullying and physical bullying.
This is done through a few simple functions. First, parents can track their children's location on their cell phones after both parties have downloaded the TraqKid app.
For younger children
Without a mobile phone, parents can purchase a tracking IoT and download TraqKids
App.
There is one in the app
a single call button connected to their nationwide 24/7 response center
offers services such as:
- The assignment of the case managers to be managed
critical cases - Escalation to the agency for support
- Deployment of personnel who are closest to the incident
Page? ˅ - legal advice
- Advice from child psychologists
The response center is staffed by corporate volunteers, the public and Community Policing Malaysia (CPM), an organization founded by Kuan.

“Volunteers will register for the community police under CPM. After passing the background check and careful review under the CPM, the volunteer application forms must be submitted to Jabatan Pencegahan Jenayah Dan Keselamatan Komuniti (JPJKK) at the Royal Malaysia Police headquarters, Bukit Aman, ”Simon and June assured us of the legitimacy of the responders.
In the meantime, the reaction center's standard workflows have been designed with the help of TraqKid's Advisory Board Chairman Tan Sri Musa Hassan, the former eighth Inspector General of Police.
Finally, you will find a list of SafeHubs in the app. They consist of a network of business premises that can help children in need when help is needed. Tealive is a retailer that has registered and offers its 450 branches in Malaysia as SafeHubs.
Built on trust
So that TraqKid can be used
effectively, parents need to build trust between them and their children
that they use the app voluntarily.
Via the app, parents
When you add the child's cell phone number, an OTP is sent to the child
Phone.
The child can only be
will be added to the system as soon as the OTP has been shared with the parent.
"With this back and
The fourth time you enter OTPs, there is no way for the child to be added in the chase
App not being aware that parents intend to track their whereabouts.
Therefore, we have always emphasized that it is important that parents inform their parents
Children and share their intentions to do so, ”said Simon and June.
The type of data that
is collected and stored in an encrypted server that provides parents / guardians with information such as
The child's cell phone number, name, email address, and cell phone
Number.
In the app itself, a
The child is represented by a three-digit long name that only the parents would know.
and once a child has been registered with a primary parent in the app, no one
otherwise the same number can be added to track the child.
This is the type of security measure that was set up to prevent other users from using the app to track children.
TraqKid doesn't have one either
Access to the location of the children, and this is only possible with voice recording
Parents consent through their call center.
When someone calls
The TraqKid response team recognizes the severity of the situation and assigns it
a case manager who manages communication and contact between parents and child
Authorities for serious cases.
Security for children everywhere
TraqKids app is
completely free to use so that the team can make money in other ways through their children's
personal accident insurance and its enrichment programs (intended for clarification)
Children and parents alike in terms of child safety). They also plan to sell advertisements
Space as another source of income in the future.

When it comes to
The team that communicates safety issues and stands up for them is still facing an increase
Battle.
“Many Malaysians think
This security is the job of our police and government, so they don't take security
Ideas from a trading company seriously. Our enrichment programs were
specifically designed to improve security rates and we have signups but it
has to grow fast enough, ”said Simon and June.
Nevertheless, the team stays
hopeful for the future of TraqKid.
"We hope that at least 10% of our children will use TraqKid as a safety beacon in the next two years and that our services can be extended to Thailand and Singapore to ensure cross-border use and support."
