Michael Chavis secured a two-part home run with a hit in the seventh inning in Fort Myers, Florida on Friday to give the Boston Red Sox a win over the Tampa Bay Rays.
Moises Gomez and Mike Brosseau slammed solo homers for the Rays, who nearly returned from 4-0 deficit after starter Rich Hill gave up three hits and four runs in the first game.
Kevin McCarthy took the win after taking the chance to save for the first time by allowing three hits and two runs over innings of work.

Clayton Kershaw scored two goals in two goalless innings and Chris Taylor contributed a homer, double and four RBIs for the Dodgers in Surprise, Arizona. Whit Merrifield had two hits for Kansas City.
