To help Singaporeans manage their living expenses, NTUC Enterprise is launching a $ 50 million support package that more than doubles the value of its support compared to $ 20 million a year ago.
This package includes measures such as extending discounts and programs until December 31 of this year, as announced in a press release on Monday (June 22).
NTUC FairPrice will continue to freeze prices on 100 everyday house brands until the end of the year.
This initiative started in March last year and could have run until June 30 this year to help customers save approximately $ 17.8 million.
The six-month extension is expected to bring additional savings of $ 6.7 million to customers.
Special offers for NTUC union members
When the F&B companies reopen for Phase 2, members of the NTUC Union can receive a reduced price of $ 1 for the breakfast set in all food courts and cafes of NTUC Foodfare and Kopitiam, while the public can get the set at a price of 1 $ 50 can enjoy.
This promotion is available every day from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.
This initiative is expected to save $ 1 million.
Discounts or programs extended until December 31
NTUC Enterprise extends several discounts and programs for another six months to extend support to all households, seniors and members of the NTUC Union.
As previously mentioned, NTUC FairPrice will continue to hold prices for 100 everyday household goods by the end of the year.
The initiative, launched in March 2019, would have taken 15 months to June 30 this year and would have helped customers save around $ 17.8 million.
With another extension until the end of this year, customers are expected to realize additional savings of $ 6.7 million.
The 100 items are popular everyday staples and include foods such as rice, oil, beverages and poultry, as well as batteries, toiletries and household cleaners.
Last year, the cost of 38 of the 100 branded products increased by up to 10 percent, meaning that FairPrice has absorbed over $ 350,000 as a result of this initiative.
Discounts for Merdeka Generation, Pioneer Generation, Seniors and NTUC Union members
The Merdeka Generation (MG), the Pioneer Generation (PG) and seniors receive their discounts in the NTUC FairPrice branches from Monday to Wednesday for a further six months until December 31.
The expansion of the PG and MG discount programs is expected to bring savings of $ 7.9 million in 2020, while the savings from the senior discount program will exceed $ 2.5 million and the estimated total savings for our seniors in 2020 to $ 10.4 million.

In July 2019, NTUC introduced enterprise programs for PG and MG members to offer them various benefits and discounts.
With the six-month extension until the end of the year, PG and MG members can continue to take advantage of the various special offers, including the $ 0.50 offer for hot coffee and tea, as well as discounts on courses, insurance, personal home care, and daycare.
NTUC union members can continue to enjoy their $ 0.50 hot coffee and tea every Wednesday, a popular initiative that started in May 2019 and will also be extended until the end of this year.
