We're only in Hulus for a couple of episodes Only murders in the building and we are already mesmerized by the secret of who killed Tim Kono. The murder of the Arconia resident is central to the show, as Mabel (Selena Gomez), Oliver (Martin Short) and Charles (Steve Martin) try to get to the bottom of his death, but it's not the only murder the one in the building. In addition to Zoe's death 10 years earlier, the flash-forward in the very first episode makes the apartment complex even more dark.
In case you need a refresher, the scene takes place two months before the events of the series. When the police storm the building, Oliver and Charles can be seen running frantically down the stairs to get to Mabel. When they open the door to their apartment, however, they find her kneeling over a corpse, completely bloody. "That's not what you think," she tells them as they watch in horror.
How exactly do Mabel, Oliver and Charles get to this point? More importantly, who is the corpse? Well, for starters, the corpse Mabel is leaning over wears a tie-dye hoodie, which probably means that the person who is being murdered is the infamous "tie-dye guy" mentioned in previous episodes. While the series hasn't officially revealed who the "tie-dye guy" is, set photos from the set actually spoiled the answer some time ago.

In February, Gomez was spotted filming a scene with actor Aaron Dominguez wearing – you guessed it – a tie-dye hoodie. Based on his previous November 2020 casting announcement, Dominguez plays Oscar, aka Mabel, and Tim's boyfriend, wrongly accused of killing their friend Zoe. Assuming the body we see in the flash forward is actually Oscar, the story could go two different ways. Oscar could take revenge on Mabel and she stabs him in self-defense. It's also possible that someone was after all the Hardy Boys and Oscar got caught in the middle. Maybe the killer was actually aiming at Mabel and Oscar will step in to save her.
Of course, the corpse in the flash-forward may not even be Oscar. After all, we only see the tie-dye hoodie. Someone else could have put it on easily. Regardless of whether or not Mabel actually committed the murder, we know she appears to be falling for it. On set photos from April, Gomez was seen in the same bloody outfit from the screen before the police escorted her outside in handcuffs. One thing is certain: We are very excited to see how the story develops.
