At least one passenger survived the crash of a Pakistani airliner that crashed in a residential area of Karachi on Friday, a government official said.
Sindh chief minister Murad Ali Shah inquired about the health of banker Zafar Mahmood, who miraculously survived, a provincial government spokesman, Abdur Rashid Channa, said in a statement.
When the Prime Minister said "Murad is here," the survivor replied, "Thank you very much. God was merciful," the statement said.
The Pakistani civil aviation authority said it had 91 passengers and eight crew members on board the Airbus A320.
