Washington:
US President Donald Trump said on Sunday that the United States would not pay security costs for Prince Harry and his wife Meghan, which seems to confirm that the royal couple moved to California.
They reportedly flew from Canada to Los Angeles on a private jet before the border between the two countries was closed due to the fatal outbreak of the corona virus.
The couple, who have lived in Canada for several months, shook the royal family earlier this year by deciding to no longer represent the British monarchy and to lead a new, independent life.
"I am a great friend and admirer of the Queen and the United Kingdom," Trump tweeted.
"It has been reported that Harry and Meghan who left the kingdom would live permanently in Canada. Now they have left Canada for the United States, but the United States will not pay for their security protection. You have to pay!"
Meghan grew up in Los Angeles and her mother Doria Ragland still lives in the city.
The one-time actress has a network of friends and work contacts in Los Angeles, where she can now resume her career.
Disney announced on Thursday that it will tell a new film about a family of African elephants.
According to reports, Harry was recently involved in a prank phone call attacking Trump for his stance on climate change.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will officially resign from their royal duties on March 31.
