British Prince Harry was annoyed by what he thought of Prince William's "snobbery" when he advised his brother to "take as much time as you need to meet this girl" when he was with Meghan Markle , it says in a new book.
Harry and his wife Meghan distanced themselves from the book "Finding Freedom" and said that they were not interviewed for and made no contribution to the biography serialized by The Times and The Sunday Times newspapers.
The book, citing sources, documents a time when Harry and Meghan were together and William wanted to make sure the American actress had the right intentions, the Sunday Times said.
"Don't think you need to hurry up," said William Harry, according to sources quoted in the book. "Take as much time as you need to meet this girl."
The Sunday Times said Harry had heard a snobbish tone in the last two words of "this girl" and Harry no longer felt that he had to take care of him.
The couple and their son Archie are now living in Los Angeles after stepping down from their royal roles in March to start new careers. In January, they announced plans to live a more independent life and to finance it themselves.
Harry and Meghan married in May 2018 at a wedding that was announced at the time when it added a touch of Hollywood glamor and modernity to the British monarchy, making them one of the largest celebrity couples in the world.
