Three Singapore companies, Frasers Property Retail, JustCo, and PBA Group, each pledged $ 50,000 to purchase surgical masks manufactured by gaming peripheral company Razer.
The masks will be donated to health agencies in Singapore and other countries in Southeast Asia to help frontline healthcare workers fight COVID-19.
Two weeks ago, Min-Ling Tan, CEO of Razer, announced on Facebook for the first time that the company was converting some of its production lines to surgical masks in order to donate “up to 1 million”.
It is hard to imagine how the company will maneuver this change so quickly, but Tan released an update today (April 1st) that is already working to build a fully automated mask manufacturing line in Singapore that may be “done within 30 days” will be.
With this facility, Razer plans to produce “a few million” masks every month and further expand its capacity if necessary.
While it is not yet clear how the mask will be priced, Tan has called all companies in Singapore and Singapore that were interested in the first purchase of $ 50,000.
The supportive responses from Frasers Property, JustCo and PBA were received within five hours of its announcement.
“Many thanks to these three partners who have strengthened. I look forward to hearing from many more! "Said Tan.
