Samsung announced the Galaxy Z Fold 2 on August 5, but did not reveal a release date or price at the time, and only promised to add more information about the leaflet on September 1. However, if you check Samsung's UK retail website now, you can apparently pre-order the Z Fold 2 for as little as £ 1,799. The dispatch is expected on September 17th (via Max Weinbach).
While this price may be flashy, it is actually cheaper than the original UK starting price of £ 1,900 – a £ 101 difference. Provided, of course, that the price stated there is not an error. Samsung did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
We don't yet know whether a lower price would carry over to the US. The first fold launched for $ 1,980, so the Z Fold 2 may cost less. It's also unclear whether pre-orders for the Z Fold 2 will sell sooner or later than the UK.

And it remains to be seen if the Z Fold 2 will fix some of the shortcomings from the first Fold – but it looks like the upcoming phone could have some improvements. For example, the ultra-thin glass shade of the Z Fold 2 could be more durable than the plastic shade of the original. The 6.2-inch outer screen is also much larger at 7.6 inches than the tiny screen on the first fold, and the inner display is larger too.
While we have to wait until September 1 for the full reveal, you can get an idea of what the phone looks like in action right now. A Chinese YouTube channel has already published a video review of the device. And if you're already interested in buying one and living in the US, you can pre-order before it gets started.
