On March 7, the highly anticipated Meghan Markle, Prince Harry and Oprah Winfrey interview aired on CBS the night before it aired in the UK. Unsurprisingly, the interview resulted in a series of revelations over the years about the royal family and their obscene treatment of Meghan as they unsupported them on numerous occasions. Since the interview aired, some of Meghan's friends have shared their support and defended her. Serena Williams was one of those friends who posted a statement on Twitter after the two-hour interview.
"Megan Markle, my selfless friend, lives her life – and leads by example – with empathy and compassion. She teaches me every day what it means to be truly noble," wrote Serena. "Her words illustrate the pain and cruelty she has experienced.
"I know firsthand that sexism and racism institutions and the media slander women and people of skin color in order to minimize us, smash us and demonize us. We must recognize our obligation to decipher malicious, unfounded gossip and tabloid journalism.
