The Virtual Mobile Telco Zero Mobile license was suspended on March 12 by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA).
The Australia-based company has been Singapore's second virtual cellular company since its launch in 2017, but ceased operating three months ago.
In yesterday's IMDA statement, the agency said that despite a reminder, Zero Mobile failed to "resolve outstanding billing disputes with ex-subscribers."
IMDA has previously worked with Zero Mobile to minimize the impact on approximately 230 former users, including porting their numbers to other telecommunications companies.
It now supports 12 remaining former users with their outstanding billing issues and advises affected customers to end all recurring automatic payment agreements with Zero Mobile.
In addition to an immediate suspension of the license, IMDA has also blacklisted Zero Mobile and its directors.
If Zero Mobile cannot resolve all remaining billing disputes, the license will be terminated on March 18.
Customers have had difficult experiences with Zero Mobile
In December, Zero Mobile announced the termination of its mobile phone plans, referring to the need to take a step back and reassess the market landscape.
Glenn Mohammed, CEO of Zero Mobile, said the company was "sabotaged" by competitors such as fake service applications and ratings.
He also said that a large number of customers misused their credit terms and were in arrears for months.
As we reported, some Zero Mobile users shared comments about their bad experiences with virtual telecommunications.

Some issues related to SIM card activation, sluggish customer service, and incorrect billing for services that were supposed to be "unlimited" in their plans.
After discontinuing the Zero X and Zero X plans, Zero Mobile promised to return with “new and modular pricing plans” in the coming days.
However, the company has never released new services.
