In Lena Waithe's new series Twenties, Nia (Gabrielle Graham), Hattie (Jonica "Jojo" Gibbs) and Marie (Christina Elmore) are three friends living in Los Angeles who are trying to find answers to life's burning questions. Twenties is based on the life of actor, producer and writer Waithe and is led by Haddie, an aspiring film and television writer who has drafts to enter the industry on her own terms.

"She's trying to figure things out," Gibbs says of Hattie, an openly strange character. "It's super funny, headstrong, unique and I think you'll fall in love with it."
Marie is one of Haddie's best friends who, according to Elmore, "gives lots of unsolicited advice". "I have a feeling that Marie is the person who accomplished everything she set out to do, and now she's trying to figure out what to do if that's not enough."
The trio is rounded off by Nia, a yoga teacher with Caribbean roots. "She's kind of quirky, very in love with love," says Graham. "A hopeless romantic who is very rooted and proud of her culture."
BET.com sat down with the ladies to play a round of “Twenty Questions” that turned out to be quite revealing. We discovered that they all started working in fast food factories, Jojo attended the same school as Rapper Da Baby and that they have a natural chemistry that will make the 1920s a must:
BET.com: Where was your first kiss?
Gabrielle: summer school.
Jonica: Why did you go to summer school first?
Gabrielle: Because my grades in math were very bad and I had to get them up.
Jonica: And you were quick …
