Black Rob passed away on Saturday (April 17th) and a detail of his tragic death at the age of 51 left fans particularly devastated.
In the days following Rob's hospitalization due to kidney failure, it was found that Rob, born Robert Ross, was homeless and needed money to cover his medical expenses. A GoFundMe was set up with a $ 50,000 goal to get Rob back on his feet, but the "Whoa!" Rapper died before it was halfway to his destination.
By Saturday night, the crowdsourcing site had raised just over $ 28,000. Fans can still donate to help with funeral expenses and more.
Bad Boy founder Diddy reportedly reached out to Rob last week with an offer for help, but it's not clear what the rap mogul was offering his one-off label star.
Black Rob discussed his financial and health problems in a heartbreaking video posted on social media a few days before his death.

"Oh man, I've been into this for five years. Four punches … I don't know what to tell you man. Shit is crazy. Shit is hard," said Rob. "I don't have a house to live in – except maybe an apartment. Me and my husband are trying to get together. I'm telling you man this shit is weird. It's hard you know what I'm saying "
Last week he posted a video from his hospital bed to wish DMX's family and friends well after the Ruff Ryder legend passed away at the age of 50.
Rob's death was first announced by DJ Self and later confirmed by friends like Mark Curry and Mario Winans.
“That hit my heart ……. we will NEVER forget you, brother! RIP BLACK ROB! "Winans captured a picture of Rob that he posted on Instagram.
