Twitter Inc said Wednesday that it would stop advertisers' attempts to use the coronavirus outbreak to send inappropriate advertising to its users.
Government agencies wishing to distribute public health information may advertise epidemic-related ads, Twitter said.
On Tuesday earlier, Facebook Inc announced that it would provide free advertising to the World Health Organization (WHO) to ensure users were not misled about the virus.
Last month, Facebook announced it would ban products that offer a cure or prevent the corona virus and products that create a sense of urgency.
