Coronavirus deaths reached 3,393 on Tuesday, more than the total number of deaths reported in China and the third highest in the world after Italy and Spain, according to Reuters.
Health officials urged Americans to follow home stay instructions and other measures to curb the spread of the virus that originated in China in December.
There are now over 800,000 cases of the highly contagious disease caused by the virus and more than 39,000 deaths worldwide.
Italy reported 11,591 deaths, followed by Spain with 8,189.
