China hit back on Wednesday with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo alleging that the coronavirus came from a Wuhan laboratory and said he had "no" evidence.

"I think this matter should be given to scientists and medical professionals, not to politicians who lie for their own domestic ends," Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said at a regular press conference.
