Vanessa Bryant recalls a heartfelt interview with Kobe Bryant. On Thursday, the 38-year-old model shared an Instagram video of the conversation in which the late NBA star spoke to former soccer player Lewis Howes about the importance of love.
"Happiness is such a beautiful journey," said Kobe in the clip. "It has its ups and downs, whether in marriage or career. Things are never perfect, but love keeps you going and you move through it, you move through it. And then through this storm. One beautiful sun comes up and inevitably another storm comes. And guess what? You ride this one out too. "He also highlighted the value of making a commitment to love others, adding," I think love is one Kind of determination, an insistence to get through the good times and the bad with someone or something you really love. "
Vanessa then honored Kobe and her late daughter Gigi in the headline, writing, "I love you @kobebryant Miss you and Gigi so much." Her homage comes just weeks before the first anniversary of Kobe and Gigi's deaths. The two died in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California on January 26, 2020, along with seven other victims. In the past year, Vanessa continued to honor the father-daughter duo and publish messages of love. She even shared an Instagram tribute to Kobe on their April 18 wedding anniversary. "My king, my heart, my best friend," she wrote. "Happy 19th wedding anniversary baby. I miss you so much. I wish you were here to hold me in your arms. I love you."
