Netflix gives us everything we want, need and deserve while we distance ourselves socially: season two of Dead for me. The streaming service has just announced that the highly anticipated second episode of the dark comedy will premiere on May 8, a year (and five days to be precise) after we met Jen and Judy, played by Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini. Oh, and it happens to be a Friday. So consider your plans for the following weekend sorted.
To refresh your memory of the events of season one, Jen tries to solve her husband's murder when she meets Judy in a support group. Despite their conflicting attitudes, the two form an improbable friendship, and Judy moves into Jens' guest house after quitting Steve (played by James Marsden) with her emotionally abusive ex-fiance. But Judy struggles with a big secret: she's the one responsible for the death of Jen's husband, and Steve encouraged her to flee the scene. She finally admits this to Jen, and next Jen seems to shoot Steve in her back yard, leaving us with the bloody cliffhanger.
It looks like season two will be similarly dramatic. According to an official Netflix synopsis, "After this bloody backyard revelation, the overwhelming couple are having trouble again hiding their secrets. With a surprising new visitor to the city and Detective Perez (Diana Maria Riva) Jen and Judy take drastic measures to take protect their loved ones and each other regardless of the cost. "Check out the official teaser below and mark your calendar for May 8th. The countdown begins!
