We all thought Chris Evans would officially lay down Captain America's shield afterward Avengers: Endgame, but apparently the show isn't over for the first Avenger! January 14th Deadline reported that the former Marvel Cinematic Universe actor is currently in talks with Marvel Studios to replay his role in a vague form. The last time fans saw Steve Rogers he really looked his age and passed the shield on to beast Sam Wilson who is apparently struggling to take on the cloak on the upcoming Marvel series The falcon and the winter soldier.
Evans, who will next speak to the young test pilot who will inspire popular action figure Buzz Lightyear in the coming year Light year Film that apparently responded to the rumors on Twitter by saying "News to me".
Deadline didn't have specific details available, but one thing is clear is that Evans wouldn't be returning to anchor another Captain America film. His return is reported to be similar to Robert Downey Jr.'s appearances in Captain America: Civil War and Spider-Man: Homecomingwhere he acts as a guide or a guest star rather than a lead. Could this be an appearance in The falcon and the winter soldier? That's doubtful since the series has already been shot and premiered later this year, but a girl can hope!
Fortunately for Evans, there are tons of future Marvel projects in which the MCU can expand beyond movies and television. The fourth phase of the franchise begins with the premiere of on January 15th WandaVisionand fans can only guess what goes beyond the films already announced.
