It's been a year since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their royal exit. In a statement on both Instagram and the website, Harry and Meghan set out their intentions to step down as senior members of the British royal family and "work to become financially independent". On March 31, 2020, their departure became official and they agreed to a twelve-month review period ending March 31, 2021. As we get closer to that date, many wonder if the Duke and Duchess will return to their earlier roles. Our advice? Don't hold your breath.
When speaking to Entertainment tonightRoyal Expert Katie Nicholl said a return to the palace was highly unlikely as "the general consensus is that this 'divorce' worked". She added, "Meghan and Harry left the royal family to become independent, to become financially independent. They absolutely achieved that this year. They can now look back on a year and probably celebrate their decision."
Oh, and they have more than achieved that! They've thrived since Harry and Meghan stepped down and moved to Santa Barbara, California. Not only have they recently launched their new Archewell Foundation, but they also signed a major, multi-year deal with Netflix to produce a variety of projects including documentaries, documentaries, feature films, screenplay shows and children's programs. Additionally, they have teamed up with Spotify for a multi-year partnership with Archewell Audio, their newly formed audio production company, and Meghan just became a private investor for women-run wellness company Clevr Blends. So, yes, Harry and Meghan are doing more than just OK.
